Shrubby herb, erect or scandent shrub or tree with tetragonal branches with fissured rough bark. Unpleasantly aromatic somewhat fleshy leaves to 150mm long, pubescent beneath. Inflorescence to 300mm long, scented flowers, calyx 4mm long, blue corolla, 4 white lobes & 1 blue one. Black fleshy drupe.
