Slender climber to 3m+ with angled pubescent or glabrous stems. Pinnate leaves to 150mm long, 3-lobed pubescent leaflets to 100mm long densely silky beneath & glabrate above. Inflorescence of solitary flowers with bracts to 10mm long, 30mm violet or dull purple flowers, greenish yellow or whitish inside, green to purple calyx to 15mm long, felted sepals. Pubescent achenes to 7mm long with persistent plumose styles to 30mm long, fruit brownish
