Large woody liana or herbaceous climber with hairy stems. 3-5 folilate leaves, crenate often 3-lobed leaflets to 100mm long, pilose or glabrate above & densely tomentose beneath. Dioecious flowers in cymose panicles, 20mm white flushed green flowers, sepals to 9mm long. Achenes to 3mm long with hairy styles.

Leaves used to produce blisters, paste of fruit used for diarrhea & dysentery.
