Vinelike shrub, tree or treelet to 20m. Tetragonal striate glabrous branches. Coriaceous glabrous leaves to 190mm x 77mm. Axillary or terminal many-flowered racemes to 330mm x 15mm, usually 120 flowers. Fragrant flowers with glabrous bracts to 25mm x 10mm, 5-toothed calyx 4.5mm long, white, pale pink or cream corolla to 8mm long with 5 lobes to 5mm wide. Fruiting calyx to 3mm x 4mm, glabrous yellow to red to black drupe to 12mm x 10mm.
