Tree, shrub or vine with tetragonal striate glabrous branches. Glabrate leaves to 155mm x 85mm. Violet or blue to reddish-purple or white flowers in terminal or axillary many-flowered racemes to 300mm x 20mm. Scented flowers to 6mm long with calyx 3mm long & corolla 6mm long. Orange or salmon to red or violet glabrous 2-lobed fruit to 12mm x 5mm, becoming black, fruiting calyx to 3.5mm x 4.5mm with 5 teeth.
