Bifid tendril vine, glabrous stems. Glabrous leaves to 62mm x 71mm. Glabrous few-flowered inflorescence, greenish to sometimes reddish flowers, calyx to 1mm x 1.5mm, corolla to 2mm x 1.5mm. Pedicels of flowers red. Spherical fruit 4mm diameter.
Sap produces blisters of skin.
Crushed leaves produce suds, stems used for string & weaving, medicinal uses, edible berries
