Herbaceous mostly glabrous tendril-climbing liana with multi-striate 4-winged stems.Trifoliate leaves with coriaceous leaflets to 100mm x 50mm. Racemes or cymes to 140mm long of brilliant 1mm long yellow-green or crimson flowers. Green fruits ripening purple-black 25mm long.
