Semi-woody slender herbaceous evergreen glabrous foetid scandent tendril liana with bifid tendrils or trailing shrub, branches with white wax covering. Simple dentate mucronate leaves to 90mm long, sometimeds red beneath. Terminal or leaf-opposed umbels or umbellate cymes 20mm across of green, yellow or white flowers or red & pink, petals to 3mm, calyx & petals glabrous, 4 petals to 2mm long, fruit a black or red glabrous berry to 12mm x 8mm, glaucous & glabrous stems, leaves sometimes somewhat lobed, bristly serrated
