Tuberous-rooted woody glabrous tendril climber with ovoid green fruits maturing reddish, then black to 6mm, cymes or umbels of yellowish-green to reddish flowers, pubescent calyx 2mm across, 4 petals 2mm long, lobed cordate leaves 150mm long with bristly serratures, wrinkled on both surfaces, white down beneath, black fruit 25mm long
