Liana with puberulous stems sometimes lenticellate, simple glabrous tendrils. Leaves glabrescent or puberulent above to 135mm x 62mm with minuscule spines on veins beneath, slightly bicoloured with denticulate margins. Puberulent inflorescence with glabrous triangular bracts to 1.5mm, yellow-green flowers, fleshy calyx to 1mm x 1mm, glabrous petals. Purple fruit to 5mm diameter

Seeds cooked & eaten, leaves & stems have medicinal uses, root used for making arrow poison, edible fruit
