Woody twining vine to 5m with striate hairy or glabrate branches. Crenate mucronate leaves to 150mm x 150mm, glabrous to pilose above & pubescent beneath. Staminate lax many-flowered panicle to 350mm long with reduced bracts, frequently terminal, 4 pilose sepals to 1.5mm x 1mm, green-yellow scented flowers, mostly glabrous corolla to 1.5mm x 1.1mm. Pistillate 2-8 flowered fascicles in panicles to 250mm long, flowers with 1 sepal 2mm x 1.8mm & 1 puberulent petals 0.8mm x 1mm. Pilose tuberculate red drupe to 6mm x 5mm.
