Glabrous herbaceous twining vine to 3m with striate glabrous stems. Mucronate glabrous peltate leaves to 75mm x 70mm. Male inflorescence an axillary cyme to 35mm with glabrous bracts to 13mm x 15mm & glabrous bracteoles to 0.5mmm staminate flowers white or greenish with 4 glabrous sepals to 1.7mm x 0.9mm & a glabrous corolla to 0.9mm x 1mm. Female an axillary fascicles or raceme of 1-2 flowers, to 150mm,ucronate glabrous bracts to 18mm x 21mm, greenish-yellow to white flowers to 3mm diameter with 1 glabrous sepal 1.8mm x 1mm & 1 glabrous petal 0.8mm x 1mm. Red usually glabrous drupe to 6mm x 4mm.
