Twining rhizomatous subshrub to 15m with striate pilose, rarely glabrous stems. Mucronate leaves to 160mm x160mm, glabrous to pilose above & pilose to tomentose beneath. Pistillate axillary or sometimes terminal panicles with bracts to 18mm x 13mm of 4-6 flowers, pistillate flowers with 1 sepal to 1.6mm x 0.9mm & 1 petal 1mm x 1mm. Staminate fasciculate many-flowered cyme to 200mm long with bracts to 4mm x 5mm & bracteoles to 1mm. STaminate flowers white or grewenish with 4 sepals to 1.4mm x 0.9mm, corolla to 1.1mm diameter. 2mm diameter flowers. Female raceme 75 mm maturing to 450mm long, pilose orange or red drupe to 7mm diameter.
