Leaning shrub, scandent tree or shrub to 10m with villous branches. Pubescent to glabrate with dentate or entire leaves to 125mm x 50mm, hairy on nerves beneath. Terminal cymes with bracts, of 10-35 whitish to lavender flowers to 12mm, phyllaries in several series. Hairy achenes to 5mm
