Scandent shrub or vine, tendrils to 50m long with reddish hairs also on petioles & beneath leaves, leaves glabrescent above, densely rubiginose-villous racemes to 100mm long with bracts to 8mm long Y similar bracteoles, pubescent calyx tube 20mm x 2mm, calyx 5-lobed 7mm x 3mm glabrous inside pubescent outside, pinkish red petals glabrous inside villous outside, glabrous fruit to 45mm wide x 200mm long
