Scrambling glabrous liana which starts as a scandent shrub then branches start to twine to 12m high, purplish branchlets. Entire or crenate thick leaves to 200mm x 80mm. Red-brown flowers in axillary few-flowered racemose cymes or panicles to 100mm long with small bracts, yellow inside, petals 2.6mm x 2mm. Yellow-orange fruit 35mm x 30mm often lenticellate.
