Evergreen glabrous perennial herbaceous twiner, glabrous leaves to 75mm x 27mm. Few-flowered axillary cymes or umbels of blood-red flowers to 70mm long, or white with brown lobes united at the tip, tip purple, sepals 3mm long, pubescent curved corolla tube to 10mm diameter, lobes to 20mm long, lobes glabrous outside, hairy inside. Fruits are curved pointed follicles 250mm long, often in pairs.
