Shrub or scandent shrub, tomentose becoming glabrescent. Denticulate leaves to 190mm x 50mm. Axillary tomentose inflorescence with bracteoles, with purplish flowers to 12mm x 12mm, sepals to 40mm x 3mm, corolla covered in reddish hairs to 50mm long with upper pair of lobes to 22mm long. Fruit a round berry to 30mm long crowned with persistent sepals to 60mm long.
