Hemi-parasitic hemi-epiphytic perennial almost leafless to 3m with leaves reduced to minute scales, twining herbaceous glabrous liane with suckers or haustoria. Bright yellow stems or green to reddish or yellow-brown, glabrous or hairy stems. Axillary racemes or spikes subtended by bracts & bracteoles of 3-10 up to 50mm long x 2mm across yellow-white flower spikes, flowers to 3mm long with bracts to 10mm long & pubescent bracteoles to 0.7mm long, glabrous calyx, 6 white tepals 2mm wide. White ovoid glabrous fruit 7mm diameter crowned with remains of perianth.

Edible herb, medicinal uses, used as a paste in paper-making, poison, social, used to promote hair growth, vegetable.
