Scrambling semi-liane to 3m or bushy shrub. Hairy or glabrous cladodes, 1-5 foliolate leaves, lamina to 8mm x 6mm, glabrous or hairy. 1-5 floiwered raceme with bracts to 1.2mm long & bracteoles to 0.5mm x 0.3mm, greenish-white, purple veined flowers to 8mm, calyx to 5mm x 2mm with lobes to 2mm usually flushed red, standard petals to 9mm x 12mm, central portion red-pufple, white margins, sometimes purple-veined, white & green wings to 8mm x 3.5mm, red-purple & white keel 9mm x 3.5mm. Fruit a grey-brown to yellow-brown pod to 18mm x 5.8mm with beak to 6mm long.
