Shrub or climber to 3.7m withglabrous stems, spiny branches, forked spines to 32mm in leaf axles. Coriaceous glabrous mucronate leaves 70mm x 52mm. Terminal solitary flowers or few-flowered cymes, jasmine scented flowers, calyx 7mm long, white corolla pubescent outside tube to 18.5mm long, lobes to 24mm long, 50mm wide, flowers with twisted lobes, Red or violet edible berry to 50mm long.
