Thorny evergreen climbing shrub with spines to 70mm long. Glabrous leaves to 115mm x 60mm. Terminal corymbose cymes of 6-23 sweet-scented white flowers to 15mm diameter with bracts to 1.5mm long, calyx with 5 lobes to 2.5mm x 1.5mm, corolla tube to 30mm long with 5 lobes to 7mm x 16mm. Red to brown-red fruit to 22mm x 12mm.
