Perennial high-climbing twining herbaceous or slightly woody tendril liana with paired tendrils, grey-hairy 5-6 ridged stems. Biternate or triternate leaves puberulent to almost glabrous above, densely pubescent to tomentose beneath, serrated leaflets, terminal leaflet to 82mm x 45mm, lateral leaflets to 55mm x 25mm. Fragrant 10mm x 11mm cream or white flowers in axillary panicles or thyrses, sometimes flushed crimson outside, 4 sepals 5mm x 4mm , white petals yellow-tipped to 10mm long. Nearly glabrous or tomentose bladdery green fruit 70mm x 35mm.
