Somewhat scandent or trailing, hemiepiphytic shrub with hooked branches, recurved thorns to 7mm long. Mostly glabrous coriaceous leaves spiny beneath, to 160mm x 70mm. Axillary or terminal umbels, racemes or corymbs with small hairy bracts, to 9 flowers, white, yellowish-white, pink or red, sometimes greenish, glabrous sepals to 10mm x 5mm, petals 11mm x 6mm puberulous towards base. Terminal infructescence to 150mm long, pale blue-black fruit 22.5mm x 35mm.
