Liana or scrambling shrub to 10m with short paired hooked thorns. Mucronulate coriaceous glabrescent leaves to 50mm x 30mm. Solitary axillary greenish-white flowers 40mm wide, sepals tomentose outside, inner petaloid sepals 24mm, outer sepals to 6mm long, petals to 25mm x 8mm. 6-8 ribbed rose-red fruit 40mm x 25mm.
