Herbaceous woody high-climbing twiner with hairy or glabrescent stems. Trifoliolate coriaceous mucronulate glabrous leaves, thin leaflets to 100mm x 55mm. 17mm rose-purple flowers erect in axillary pendant pseudo-racemes to 230mm long with bractlets, bilobed calyx 11mm long, purple standard 25mm long, pale yellow in centre, pink keel & wings to 15mm long. Brown woody glabrous legume to 250mm x 50mm.
