Slender or lax shrub or shrubby climbing vine to 6m with hairy branchlets becoming glabrous. Coriaceous glabrate leaves to 175mm x 58mm with serrulate margins. Axillary few-flowered cymes to 30mm x 30mm with bracts & bracteoles to 3mm long, flowers with blue-green glabrous calyx to 1.5mm long with 4 lobes, blue to pink or purple corolla to 3mm long, tube 1.5mm, lobes 1.5mm. Blue to violet fruit 6mm wide, subtended by persistent fruiting calyx.
