Tall climbing palm to 15m+ with spines. Leaves to 5.1m long, hooks on underside of leaf, spines on edges, numerous leaflets. Female inflorescence with rachillae 90mm long with 20 flowers each side. Male inflorescence to 1.2m long, rachillae to 25mm long with 1112 flowers each side. Axillary infructescence to 1.5m long, green spinescent spathels with yellowish-brown pulverulence & pale green or whitish fruit 12mm diameter.
