Climbing palm. Stem sheaths armed with spines to 45mm long, spines aroun mouth to 120mm. Flagellum to 1.5m. Leaf to 900mm, about 30 pairs of leaflets, largest 300mm x 14mm. Subterminal inflorescences to 2m,male rachillae to 40mm x 2mm, female to 50mm x 3mm. Fruit to 8mm x 6mm with 1mm beak.
