Climber to 15m. Leaf sheath with black spines to 25mm long, leaf to 200mm long with spines beneath, cirrus to 550mm long, 3 leaflets each side to 185mm x 20mm. Pistillate inflorescence to 400mm long with 5-7 rachillae to 20mm long & bracts to 1.5mm. Pistillate flowers 4mm long with calyx 3.5mm long, corolla 3mm long with 3 petals. reddish-brown fruit 23mm x 14mm.
