Large prickly climbing palm. Leaf sheaths with bristles to 20mm long. Leaves armed with claws. Leaflets to 300mm x 16mm. Male spathe to 180mm x 25mm with 5-6 spikelets to 80mm long with 4-5 flowers, male flowers 4mm x 1mm.
