Clustering rattan climbing palm, scandent stem to 20m. Sheaths armed with spines to 12mm x 5mm. Flagellum to 2m. About 15 bristly leaflets per side to 500mm x 30mm. Inflorescences to 3m long. Male rachillae to 12mm long, female rachillae to 30mm long.
