Looping climbing palm. Leaf sheaths armed with spines to 12mm+. Leaves to 2.1m long, spiny both sides with cirrus !m+ with claws. Leaflets to 270mm x 22mm. Female spadix to 400mm long, 5-6 spikelets each side, lower spikelets to 70mm long with 15-18 flowers. Axillary spiny infrutescence 300mm long, whitish fruit to 13mm diameter.

Used for cordage, fishing nets, building, edible seeds
