Slender clustering climbing rattan palm to 10m. Leaf sheaths with needle-like spines to 60mm long, leaves to 2m long armed with 10mm long spines, leaflets to 57 pairs, papery leaflets to 300mm x 10mm armed with scattered reddish bristly spinules on mid nerve above. Fruit to 13mm x 13mm covered with 7 vertical rows of yellowish-brown encrusted scales.
