Climbing palm to 5m. Flagellum to 1.5m long with spines 10mm long. Leaf to 550mm long, stem covered in rusty red hairs, 24-34 leaflets per side. longest to 150m x 7mm, bristly above & on margins. Inflorescence to 1m long, male rachillae to 25mm, female to 40mm. Beaked fruit 8mm diameter.
