Climbing palm to 25m. Spiny leaves to 2.5m with 40-50 segments to 650mm x 30mm with spiny margins. Spiny spadix to 13mm. Female spathe to 300mm long with panicles to 350mm long & spikelets to 120mm x 3mm. Fruit 24mm x 11mm.
