Solitary rattan climbing palm, stems to 30m. Stem sheaths armed with black-tipped spines to 3mm. Straw-coloured leaf sheaths with spines or swollen warts. Leaf to 1.15m long with cirrus 600mm long, 9-11 leaflets per side. Leaflets to 300mm x 25mm. Male inflorescence with rachillae to 7mm x 1.5mm. Female inflorescence tto 750mm long with rachillae to 70mm x 2mm. Fruit to 18mm diameter with straw-coloured scales brownish on margins & short beak.
