Climber to 30m. Leaf to 2m long, leaf sheath with spines to 25mm x 4mm, spines at sheath mouth 60mm long. Flagellum to 3m. 60 leaflets each side, longest to 460mm x 24mm, armed with bristles to 4mm long. Pistillate inflorescence to 8.2m long, primary branches to 500mm long with 6-8 rachillae, subtending branches unarmed or sparsely armed with spines yo 1mm, rachillae bracts to 8mm x 5mm. Pistillate flowers with calyx 3mm long, 3 sepals, corolla with 3 lobes to 3.5mm x 2mm. Fruit including beak to 15.5mm x 12.5mm, beak 1.5mm x 1.5mm.
