Climbing clustering rattan palm, tufted scandent stem to 20m. Striate brown leaf sheaths with spines to 3mm long & cone-like warts pointed at apex. Leaves to 450mm long with spines, flagellum to 800mm long, 8 leaflets per side, leaflets to 250mm x 30mm. Inflorescence to 1m long, fragrant flowers to 4mm. mature fruit to 17mm x 19mm.
