Climbing palm to 15m. Stem sheaths with brown spines to 2-0mm. Leaf to 3m with cirrus to 1.2m, about 60 leaflets per side, longest to 270mm x 15mm with bristly margins. Pendulous inflorescence to 500mm long with brown tomentose bracts armed with papery spines. Mature pointed fruit to 15mm x 10mm.
