Climber to 10m. Leaf to 950mm long with sheath densely covered in spines, spines to 30mm x 1mm. Flagellum 2m long armed with spines to 30mm long. 35 leaflets each side to 260mm x 17mm. Staminate inflorescence to 1.9m long with branches to 250mm long with up to 80 rachullae, rachillae to 30mm x 1mm with bracts to 0.7mm, flowers 3mm x 1mm, calyx 1.5mm diameter with 3 lobes to 0.3mm, corolla 2.5mm x 1.5mm. Pistillate inflorescence to 2m long with up to 25 rachillae to 70mm x 1mm with bracts to 1.1mm. Beaked fruit 7mm x 7mm.
