Robust clustering climbing rattan to 20m. Stem sheaths to 25mm diameter, leaves to 1.8m with 21-29 pairs of leaflets armed with few spines & black bristles, basal leaflets to 540mm x 25mm, mid-leaflets to 450mm x 28mm, apical leaflets to 120mm x 7mm. Pendulous pistillate inflorescence to 5.2m long with bracts 340mm x 12mm, rachillae to 120mm x 4mm with bracts to 4mm x 5mm & bracteoles 4mm x 2.5mm. Pistillate flowers to 5mm x 2.3mm with calyx to 2.3mm diameter & 3 lobes to 1mm x 1.4mm, corolla 4mm x 1.7mm & 3 lobes 0.8mm x 0.8mm.
