Clustering climbing rattan palm with erect or sometimes scandent stems to 5m. Stem sheaths to 25mm diameter, leaf sheaths armed with black spines. Cirriferous leaves to 3m with cirrus to 750mmlong with spines, About 60 bristly leaflets each side to 400mm x 15mm. Inflorescence with bracts armed with spines to 30mm long. Female spadix to 400mm long with spines. Fruit 15mm diameter.
