Climbing rattan palm, scandent stems to 20m or more, with sheaths 25mm diamter, leaf sheaths to 150mm long, leaves armed with warts, ridges & prickles, to 1.5m long with 600mm cirrus, bristly leaflets to 350mm x 13mm, female spadix to 400mm long with spiny margins, yellowish-brown fruit to 25mm x 20mm covered with incrustations of red resinous secretion, male spadix to 500mm long, male flowers to 3mm long
