Clustering climbing rattan palm with scandent stems to 30m. Stem sheaths to 30mm diameter armed with spines to 35mm long. Leaf sheaths armed with spines. Leaf to 3m long with cirrus to 1.25m, about 80 leaflets per side, leaflets to 600mm x 25mm armed with bristles. Inflorescence to 350mm x 120mm with bracts armed with black spines to 40mm long. Fruit to 70mm diameter
