Spiny climbing rattan. Leaf sheaths with spines to 30mm long. Leaf to 2m long with clawed cirrus 1.4m long. Leaflets to 500mm x 35mm. Male inflorescence in panicles. Female spadix to 1.5m long, rachillae to 200mm long with 15-16 flowers each side. Fruit to 34mm x 23mm.

Cane used for bridges & walking sticks, shoot edible
