Climbing rattan palm to 15m. Leaf sheaths with spines to 90mm long. Leaf to 2.5m long armed with spines & grapnel hooks, cirrus to 1.5mm long with grapnel spines to 50mm, 7-8 leaflets per side, largest to 350mm x 160mm. Pistillate inflorescence to 800mm x 90mm. Staminate flowers 0.75mm diameter with calyx lobes to 0.75mm long, corolla to 4.5mm long with 3 lobes to 2.25mm.Pistillate flower 1.2mm diameter, calyx lobes to 1mm, corolla lobes to 4.5mm x 3mm. Mature fuit 15mm diameter.
