Climbing palm to 10m. Sheaths with spines to 4mm, flagellum to 1.5m, leaf to 600mm with 3-5 leaflets per side, leaflets to 300mm x 35mm. Inflorescence to 400mm long, subtended by a spiny bract. Mature fruit 20mm diameter tipped with beak.

Used for baskets, furniture, matting, edible fruit
