Climbing palm. Leaf sheath armed with 30mm spines. Flagellum armed with black-tipped claws. Leaflets to 500mm x 40mm. Male flowers 4mm long. Female inflorescence with rachillae to 8 per side, flowers 4mm long. beaked fruit 10mm diameter.
