Slender clustering rattan climbing palm to 5m, scandent stem to 30mm diameter. Leaf sheaths with spines to 10mm long, leaves to 1m long with flagellum to 2m long, 6-8 leaflets per side with spines on margins to 6mm & 5mm long claws, leaflets to 380mm x 80mm. Spadix to 2.3m long, greenish-yellow flowers. Fruit to 14mm x 9mm with straw-coloured scales.
